Milk is in the Millard family blood. In the late 1960’s Geoff and his brother Harvey Millard started out as young milkmen, providing doorstep delivery services in the Greater Manchester area.
As technology became more affordable in the 1980’s, it was Geoff who first recognised, he might be able to develop a solution to automate processes and save himself time in his own milk delivery business. DairyData was born. Word quickly spread and the business was inundated with requests to provide that early solution for record keeping and billing.
GROWTH FROM CUSTOMER FOCUS
Soon the Dairydata business became the principal focus and Geoff was joined by his son Chris. Whilst he had helped on the family milk rounds, Chris’ passion was software development and automating processes. With his insight and vision, the Dairydata portfolio expanded to incorporate not only a fully integrated dairy delivery management system, but also driver applications running on handheld hardware and mobile phones to improve efficiency of the direct delivery process and online ordering for clients.
Unlike your typical dairy focussed technology business, Dairydata is still very much a family affair, led by Chris Millard and his brother George. The values of the business reflect this family ownership.
